49ers KO'd; Brian Jennings to Pro Bowl

Monday, January 23, 2012

After a heartbreaking 20-17 overtime loss by the 49ers in the NFC Championship game to the Giants on a day where Alex Smith reverted back to his usual, relatively ineffective self and Kyle Williams fumbled the game away on two different occasions, the 49ers received some good news as veteran long snapper Brian Jennings was named to his second Pro Bowl as a "need player" by the Packers coaching staff. Congratulations to Brian, who is the league's best long snapper annually. This gives the 49ers NINE Pro Bowlers, most in the NFL.

Congratulations also to the 49ers. No one expected them to play so well this year as a team and achieve as much as they did. Jim Harbaugh and his staff did an amazing job turning them into legit championship contenders with a ton of heart and chemistry, and giving all of us Niner fans so much hope for the future.
