Dallas Comes Calling for Turner

Thursday, January 25, 2007 | Niner Cap Hell

The Dallas Cowboys have received permission from the 49ers organization to interview offensive coordinator Norv Turner for their head coaching vacancy.

Turner was offensive coordinator in Dallas previously; as well as stints as head coach of the Raiders and Redskins. Given his track record as a head coach one might question the Cowboys level of interest, he's a proven coordinator but marginally successfull as a head coach at best.

The Cowboys are also looking at Wade Philips from San Diego, Rex Ryan, Jim Mora and both of the Bear's coordinators.

Coach Nolan, are you out of your mind. Why would you give the Dallas Cowgirls a chance to talk to Turner. Why cut the team own throat now they are making progress.Poor decision on your part.........

Even worse, this will be Smith's 3rd playbook in three years if this goes down.

You can not prevent a assistant coach from being spoken to about a head coaching job.

Guys Guys Guys, relax. This is all part of the circus that is the NFL. After Washington and especially the Raiders, Turner knows what his true calling is. He stated that the main reason he came to the 9ers in the 1st place was because he didnt want to move his family again. He's got a nice setup in San Fran, one without TO! This team is going in the right direction and he knows it. The Cowboys just hired Jason f'ing Garret for "some role". Do you think Turner wants him as an offensive coordinator? That Cowboy job is a death trap from top to bottom. Fear not my 9er brothers, Turner will be with us next year. Nolan did the right thing by letting him make his own decisions. You dont tell a guy he cant go on the interview. You guys are probably jealous boyfriends too, sometimes you need to let the one you love go, if they come back you know its real. XOXOXOXOXO
