The 49ers coaching drama continues. Fresh off of his flirtation with the Cowboys, Norv Turner has now emerged as one of the two finalists and probably the favorite for the Chargers job according to John Clayton (ESPN) and Fox Sports. After the in-house power struggle between recently fired Marty Schottenheimer and GM A.J. Smith, one has to wonder if Norv can get his Nolan-type autonomy over the Chargers organization that he demanded from Jerry Jones during his Cowboys' candidacy.
The other candidate is Ravens' defensive coordinator Rex Ryan. And Mike Singletary? Your standard Dan Rooney Rule minority candidate knocked out of the running quickly.
