According to Matt Maiocco, first round prospects
Michael Oher,
Andre Smith,
B.J. Raji and
Michael Crabtree are expected to visit within the next few weeks. Oher and Smith are considered elite tackle prospects out of Ole Miss and Alabama respectively. Oher is scheduled for Friday, April 3 while Smith is expect in this week as well. Boston College's Raji, the top nose tackle prospect in this class, would give a huge boost to the defensive front 7. Texas Tech's Crabtree, who was considered by most as the top overall prospect in this year's draft, is projected to drop out of the top 5 due to the surgery on a stress fracture in his left foot and prevented him from working out. He is considered far and away the best wide receiver prospect to come out since
Calvin Johnson and
Dwayne Bowe in 2007 and has received comparisons to
Anquan Boldin and
Terrell Owens.
Word is that two other first round prospects are also on their way to visit: QB
Mark Sanchez and ILB
Rey Maualuga of USC.
4/7 Update:
Sanchez is expected in on Wednesday, Apr 8.
