The 49ers signed free agent linebacker Marques Harris (Chargers) today. Listed at 6'1 231 (though he may be up to 245 now), Harris recorded 2.5 sacks and 28 tackles in 15 games (3 starts) last season rotating with Jyles Tucker filling in for the injured Shawne Merriman. He is most famous for his flip after a sack.

The 49ers have also added the following undrafted free agents, most notably Michigan State 3-4 OLB prospect Brandon Long (6'3, 254), who amazed scouts at his pro day with his elite athleticism and massive Ohio State OT Alex Boone (6'6, 330), who dropped due to a 2006 DUI and an arrest in Feb 2009 for allegedly jumping on car hoods, yanking on a tow truck cable and trying to break a window (police reports indicate that they were forced to taser Boone to subdue him).
