Ulbrich to IR, Wilhelm signed; Crabtree to start?

Suffering from post-concussion syndrome,
Jeff Ulbrich was placed on IR today. "I don't know [how many]," said Ulbrich in an AP article in response to how many concussions he had suffered throughout his career. This could potentially mark the end of Ulbrich's 10-year career. After placing him on IR, the 49ers replaced him on the roster by signing former Charger
Matt Wilhelm. The 6-year veteran from Ohio State was a 14 game starter in 2007 at ILB and started 7 games last season before losing the starting job.
In other news, Matt Maiocco reports that there is a "strong possibility" that
Michael Crabtree will get his first career start at split end versus the Texans this upcoming Sunday, per head coach
Mike Singletary.
Josh Morgan would be the #3 wideout with
Isaac Bruce starting at flanker.
