Ahmad Brooks, David Baas receive RFA tenders
Monday, March 1, 2010 | Niner Cap Hell

After a very impressive second half as a situational pass rusher, the 49ers gave linebacker
Ahmad Brooks a 2nd round tender as a restricted free agent. Teams are allowed to give him offer sheets in which the 49ers have right of first refusal and can match the contract to retain him. If they decide not to match, the 49ers would then gain the team's 2nd round draft pick. Assuming he is not given an offer sheet, Brooks will earn $1.759 million for this season. The team had been in contract discussions for a long term discussion, but it has since stalled.
Starting left guard
David Baas has also received a RFA tender, for his "original draft round" which was the 2nd. He will receive $1.226 million for the season assuming he is not given an offer sheet.
