The Mercury News reports that free agent and Bay Area native
Travis LaBoy has signed a 1 year contract worth $1.6 million. LaBoy spent 2009 on the shelf with torn foot tendons after converting from defensive end to outside linebacker in the Cardinals' 3-4 scheme the year before. He was suspended for the final four games of 2009 by the league for undisclosed reasons. The 6-3, 261 lb Marin Catholic High School hall of famer put up a career best 6.5 sacks in 2004 with the Titans, and chose the 49ers over the Patriots, Dolphins and Jets.
