The 49ers made a very questionable selection in round 2 following a tremendously successful 1st round by selecting USC safety Taylor Mays.

On workout numbers, he's everything you'd ever want - 6'3, 230 lbs... 4.3 40, all the athleticism in the world - but generally poor in coverage and too often goes for the "woo hit" and whiffed plenty of tackles.

Poor angles, poor tackling technique, and poor instincts. With a much better safety prospect in Morgan Burnett still on the board, its quite a chance to take.
