Brandon Jones released; Patrick waived/injured

The 49ers have informed WR Brandon Jones that he has been released. While the 49ers have waived/injured OL Chris Patrick, who will be relegated to IR and a reduced contract when he clears waivers if the (undisclosed) injury is season ending.
The 49ers will save $2.15M in 2010, $955K in 2011, $3.52M in 2012 and $4.075M in 2013. While the 49ers will take a $1.32M Dead Money hit in 2010, and $2.1M in 2011. Another Scot McCloughan mistake bites the dust.
