49ers win on the road

Monday, September 26, 2011 | Jason

In what was a interesting and sloppy game, the 49ers beat the Bengals, 13-8.

This was a rather un-interesting game, 49ers QB Alex Smith actually had a good game. He went 20/30 for 201 yards, while he had no TDs, he also didn't have an INT.

As usual the 49ers running game couldn't get it going. Frank Gore had 17 carries for 47 yards. He also limped off the field, and his availability for next weeks game is unknown.

Rookie Kendall Hunter came in for the injured Gore and had a good game. He had a 7 yard TD run that put the 49ers up for good.

TE Vernon Davis led the 49ers in receiving, with 8 catches for 114 yards. It was a nice scene to see Davis finally get into the offensive game plan.

Outside of the opening drive, the defense had a good game. While rookie QB Andy Dalton wasn't sacked, they came up with 2 INTs. Both Carlos Rogers and Reggie Smith came up with key INTs. Smith's came at the end of the game, which sealed the victory for the 49ers.
